A soft fresh 8cm bun. Medium sized, 160g semla. Visible cardamom. Triangular lid. The cream had weeped slightly. Unsure if it was already weeping in the bakery as I couldn't see it being boxed, but it was probably during the 15 minute journey home, but it can't have been stabilised properly.

But my word that bun is soft and fresh! Almost too soft - I like a bit of density to help hold things together.

Finely chopped nuts in the paste and a huge amount of cardamom! The cardamom really owns the paste, giving it a fresh and strong continuous flavour.

I was going to say there aren't any larger bits of almond but then I stumbled across some almond slithers under the cream! They were clustered in the middle.

Some of my bites round the edges were just bun and cream, which was a little unexpected given its size and shape, but all in all this was a really good tasting and enjoyable semla. I'd have happily had a second one straight away!

You could say it's a slightly tweaked traditional one. Which isn't surprising really as Lindebergs do quite a number of special semlors including a different one each weekend so a classic semla fits well into the range.
