Good size. Actually it's a really nice size. I don't weigh the semlors (why the hell don't I!?) but this one was I think the smallest so far this season. That's really not a bad thing. It's easy to make a semla a little too big. It's pretty, with a round bakers ring cut lid and a swirl of wipped cream.

They put salted nuts added on top of the paste - and this time, they got the balance right. As they use salted nuts, they really have to combine it with the right amount of sweet almond paste. There isn't much margin for error. It's not every tray they get completely right. Part of the charm of artisan baking though.

The bun was good, but collapsed a little towards the end. It had plenty of cardamom and was fresh 👌. Lillebrors got 4/5 last year and 4/5 in 2019 (although looking back and thinking back to that it probably should have had 3.5 in 2019) - so best yet from them!
