I like the size of this semla. It's about 8cm in diameter. Triangular lid nicely perched on top of the whipped cream.

Didn't get to the almond paste on the first bite. Almost... But not quite. The bun is a little dry and I'm not getting much cardamom. A Sunday semla not baked today perhaps? The cream gives me that impression too, that has a yesterday feel to it too. This is an issue I've had with a few similar class of bakery here in Stockholm with satellite stores (Robin Delselius and Thelins).

The almond paste was excellent. Both chopped and whole almonds. And here is where the cardamom is! The bun is weak on cardamom but the paste is strong. If only I'd reached the filling on the first bite! 😂

All in all, it's the bun that lets this semla down, but the paste brings it up.
