Café Pasal on Södermalm. 8cm medium semlor verging on large due to its height of almost 9cm.

Round lid with a large round mound of thickly whipped cream. It's a flat bun. The paste and roughly chopped nuts are visible. There are roasted nuts in the paste, but the nuts on top are plain valencia almonds.

The paste is very similar to what I make, but with a greater quantity of finely chopped nuts. This makes the paste a little less sweet and more nutty in taste than is often the case.

The overall nuttiness drowns out the cardamom flavour, and to be honest it was only really noticeable when I had a bite without much or any paste.

It's a nice semlor, especially if you prefer ones on the less sweet side. Creamy, nutty and tall. 59kr. 3.5/5.
