7cm wide. 8cm tall. 159g. A medium-small sized semla, but a medium weight semla.

Large bits of cardamom in the bun, many are half kernels! The bun is generally quite light in colour with a classic open star swirl of whipped cream and what looks like classic almond paste. The lid is untrimmed, but generously dusted in icing sugar.

The bun was dense and compact, I was surprised by the weight of this semla given its size and the density of the bun explains it.

The lid had a very chewy surface to it and underneath the icing sugar there was a darker lid compared to the rest of the bun and with what appeared to be a slight shine, as if it had been glazed, or brushed with egg.

The sweet almond paste is made from standard wholesale almond paste with no added extras such as chopped nuts and a twang of almond essence to it.

For the price of 58kr, I had hoped for something that was a bit higher in standard. Other semlors in this price class will give you happier memories.
