Details.. Bak put your selma into a brown box with "BAK" stamped on it, and tie it up with string. I'm already smiling when I leave the bakery. Happy before even eating it! No plastic windows in boxes here...
The bun is exactly the consistency I prefer, sufficiently dense but fresh and hand-ground cardamom visible throughout, and the taste of which is noticeable throughout.
The almond paste is sweet and nutty and spread across almost the entire width of the bun. On top of that is a generous layer of roughly chopped roasted almonds. Almond paste with every bite.
I'm starting to think that perhaps round lids are the way to go; at least round lids that have been reduced in size slightly (BAK didn't do that this time, but they have previously, but the amount of paste and nuts hanging over the edge makes up for it) - just lopping off the top and sticking it back can result in a "sandwich" effect, pushing out all the cream when you take the first bite. But a smaller round lid serves a similar function to a triangular lid; making the bun easier to eat - at least initially.
Cream with every bite. Nuts with every bite. Cardamom with every bite. It's craftwork at its finest.
